Chuck Young

W. Charles Young (Chuck) received his B.S. in Secondary Education and B.A. and M.A. in History from The Pennsylvania State University. He is also certified by LaSalle University to teach Advanced Placement U.S. Government and Politics. He spent 35 years in public education as a teacher, building administrator, and District superintendent. He has had a lifelong passion for local history and military history, particularly the American Civil War. He has been active since his early twenties with several community historical groups. He was a founding member of the Central Pennsylvania Civil War Roundtable, a life member of the Roland Curtin Foundation, a former member of the Bellefonte Historical and Cultural Association, and a former board member of the Bellefonte Cemetery Association. He is also a member of The American Battlefield Trust, The Central Virginia Battlefield Trust, and the Antietam Institute. He has been published in the Institute’s Antietam Journal and BHCA’s The Bell. He is currently researching several topics for further publication.
