Jim Schmick is the owner and proprietor of the Civil War and More bookshop in Mechanicsburg, PA. Jim’s involvement with our greatest conflict goes far beyond selling books, prints, and ephemera about the War. He co-founded the Camp Curtin Historical Society and Civil War Roundtable and is currently the President of its Board of Directors. He has been recognized by both the Pennsylvania State Senate and the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for promoting Pennsylvania history and was named Historian of the Year by the Cumberland County Historical Society.

His restoration efforts have been acknowledged by the Pennsylvania House, the Pennsylvania Senate, and the Gettysburg Battlefield Preservation Association. Jim has given more than 300 presentations on topics related to the Civil War, helped restore dozens of war-related monuments, appeared on many radio and television programs about local history, and served on innumerable committees, forums, and boards.
