In the beginning, America’s Civil War was fought by volunteers — men who thought they could help achieve something significant. And so it is with the Civil War Weekend in Bellefonte. There are those who imagine an improved state of their world, which might be brought about through personal action or expense. Our sponsors believed that this Weekend justified some sacrifice.
They went forward when it was entirely unnecessary. We lacked a draft to encourage the reluctant. The following organizations and individuals embraced the challenge of bringing something worthwhile into existence and they succeeded. Their gifts of time, talent, and treasure brought the Civil War Weekend in Bellefonte to life. If you enjoy this Weekend, please remember those who made it possible.
